BRIDGES

Replacing any missing teeth is important not only so that you have a beautiful and natural looking smile but it is also crucial for your overall oral health.  When there are large gaps in your smile your bite can become mis-aligned and other teeth can shift to move into the gap.

Dentures, bridges and implants are different solutions to replacing your natural teeth. At Alluring Smiles we offer all three treatment solutions and in some cases we may combine them in order to achieve the best result.  We offer different types of bridges depending on your individual needs.  The two most common types of bridges are fixed and resin bonded.

Bridges use the surrounding teeth for support and work by 'bridging' the gap left by a missing tooth with a replacement tooth.  A bridge provides you with a beautiful and natural looking smile that is structurally strong and allows you to eat, speak and function normally.  An additional benefit of a bridge over a denture is that it is a fixed appliance which means that you don't have to remove it at night.

Fixed Bridge

Fixed bridges use crowns attached to teeth on either side of the gap that is being bridged to anchor the false teeth into place.  Fixed bridges can be made from many different types of materials and range from pure ceramic to pure metal in design.  There is no one size fits all solution to crafting a structurally secure and aesthetically pleasing bridge.  We take the time to thoroughly assess and work with you to understand which material and design will be best to meet your needs.

Resin Bonded Bridge

Resin bonded bridges are primarily used for front teeth, where less structural strength is required.  Here the false tooth is fused to metal bands (Or Zirconia) that have been bonded to the teeth on either side of the gap that is being bridged.  The main benefit to this type of bridge is that it does not require the use of crowns and therefore there is less preparation of the adjacent teeth.
